"Miracle" on the Hudson

Religionists are never slow to try to seize an opportunity to make a point in their favor.  No exception was the safe water landing of American Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River on January 15, 2009.  The event quickly became labelled a "miracle", as though it were utterly impossible for a mere human being, in this case Captain Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger, to have pulled off such a brilliant feat of airmanship unaided by divine intervention.  The good Captain, I thought, always looked a bit uncomfortable when the word "miracle" injected itself into an interview.  I did not see an interview (although certainly I did not see them all) in which he claimed his feat would have been impossible without God as his co-pilot.
